TheinsanegamerNIntel's 10nm is mobile only because it doesnt scale up to desktop levels well at ALL. That said desktop is shrinking so medium and long term it would not be wise to put all their eggs in that basket. AMD is clearly trying to move beyond their current user / fan base in mobile. AMD still isnt putting the work into making ready to go platforms for their mobile chips, I find it very unlikely that ryzen 5000 mobile will be any more succesful then ryzen 4000 mobile was, especially when many of the chips are ryzen 4000 with a 5 in them.I actually agree with most of that. Seems pretty stupid to ignore that market. And gaming desktops have seen major growth the lastfew years, with AMD spearheading said growth. To this day it's desktop that makes up the vast majority of Zen consumer sales. TheinsanegamerNWe've heard this excuse before, yet it was the desktop, not the laptop, market that saved AMD with zen. Desktop chips now have more effect on PR / Marketing than they do on the real financial bottom line. That is why Ice Lake and Tiger Lake is where 10nm went first for Intel, and why we are getting Tiger Lake H mobile before we see Rocket Lake. RandallFlaggLaptop is the jugular in this market, desktop just isn't that big anymore. Posted on Jan 12th 2021, 14:32 Reply #16 TheinsanegamerN I think there will be a lot of really PO'd AMD users if Rocket Lake and Tiger Lake H hit the markets in volume and AMD is still doing presentations. Kind of a bad move, AMD probably should have had Samsung lined up for some of their business. I (obviously) don't think they can, I think they'll have TSMC making XBox and PS 5 chips Q1 again. The real question is if AMD can actually get TSMC to produce their chips in any volume given their other obligations. AMD has completely forgotten about the budget marketnow that they have better IPC then intel.Laptop is the jugular in this market, desktop just isn't that big anymore. No news on cheaper 5600/5700 CPUs, or the 5000 series desktop APUs. I wonder if they have to have a rethink after the 3060ti came out, if the rumors of the 6700xt being just a 5700xt with RT were true, AMD would have been in a bad spot with such a card. with a 1h timeframe, we likely wont see these cards until early summer at the earliest. Not even a sneak peek at the specs for the 6700 series.
To that end, by the time a Bronco has been brought to Britain and put through the IVA test to make it road- legal (and once everybody has made a bit of money, including quite notably the American dealer’s mark-up) and after Clive Sutton has given it a two- year warranty (it sets out to make buying and running a grey import as easy as owning an official one), it costs £45,000-£85,000, depending on the spec. It’s not strictly built for us, basically. The Bronco is a different sort of 4x4, a fun or adventure wagon with an 850mm wade depth and approach, breakover and departure angles of at least 35.5deg, 20.0deg and 29.7deg. If you want a super-refined new SUV, think instead of the Land Rover Defender or even the Toyota Land Cruiser. There’s no question as to the utilitarian nature of the car’s base. Doubtless it would be better still with a hardtop, because this soft hood does feel a bit tenty on a motorway, while there’s a shimmy to the body over bumps at higher speeds. There’s a rounded edge to the ride and the medium-weighted steering is positive, with that pleasing Ford- like natural take-up of weight and response as you turn (which is what makes the Ranger one of the better pick-ups to drive).Īs with most proper modern 4x4s, there are driving modes, here called GOAT – for ‘goes over any terrain’ but also with the ‘greatest of all time’ and mountain goat vibes. That’s the kind of thing that can really matter off road but makes mooching out of London traffic better, too. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine starts to a refined idle, and brake modulation, creep and initial throttle response are easy. There’s plenty of head room all around and netted storage pockets in the doors to prevent things from rattling about. There are separate chunky heating and ventilation controls and audio buttons, waterproof-looking rubberised switches, plus a modest touchscreen and a configurable digital instrument pack (whose dials could be rounder and clearer). The driving position is sound, with an imperious view out punctuated by the bonnet grab handles – there for strapping on a roof-mounted kayak or mounting ‘limb risers’ (which move branches out of the way). Inside, our Bronco does looks the authentic rugged part. There’s also a 2.7-litre V6 and a manual option, plus a 3.0-litre performance Raptor is coming. This Outer Banks edition is a sort of mid-range model, on more road-focused tyres than those above it – although, as with Jeeps, the more rugged they are, the better Broncos look (to my eyes, at least). It comes with a 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine making 270bhp and driving through a 10-speed automatic gearbox. They’ve taken 165,000 orders so far, so it’s in high demand. The range is broad and Ford’s recommended starting price is less than $30,000 in the US, but dealers are charging a mark-up. The Bronco is a car built for adventures in the kind of space that Americans enjoy but of which we don’t have so much. 23 University of Cantabria, Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla, Santander Epidemiology, Genetics and Atherosclerosis Research Group on Systemic Inflammatory Diseases, Rheumatology Division, IDIVAL, Santander, Spain and University of the Witwatersrand, Cardiovascular Pathophysiology and Genomics Research Unit, School of Physiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, South Africa.22 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario de La Princesa, IIS-Princesa, Cátedra UAM-ROCHE, EPID-Future, Universidad Autónoma (UAM), Madrid, Spain.21 University of Cantabria and CIBER Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP), Santander, Spain.20 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Madrid, Spain.19 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain.18 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital El Escorial, Madrid, Spain.17 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Infanta Leonor, Madrid, Spain.16 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Virgen de Valme, Sevilla, Spain.15 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, Murcia, Spain.14 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Severo Ochoa, Madrid, Spain.13 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, Tenerife, Spain.12 Division of Rheumatology, Instituto Provincial de Rehabilitación, Madrid, Spain.11 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario de Canarias, Tenerife, Spain.10 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Los Arcos del Mar Menor, Murcia, Spain.9 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario de Araba, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.8 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain.7 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, Spain.6 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga, Spain.5 Division of Cardiology, Hospital Lucus Augusti, Lugo, Spain.4 Division of Rheumatology, Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain.3 Research Unit of Spanish Society of Rheumatology, Madrid, Spain.2 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital Universitario Hospital General Virgen de la Concha, Zamora, Spain. 1 Division of Rheumatology, Hospital de Manises, Valencia, Spain. Betty Boop, it seems, continues to dance across the stages of media, makeup, and memories alike. The new cartoon is part of what Jennifer Wolfe of Animation World Network called “a larger Betty Boop campaign,” signaling that the character is experiencing a cultural resurgence. “When Max Fleischer dipped his pen into the inkwell,” Caruso continued, evoking the Viennese-American animator who created the legendary cartoon character, “out came a masterpiece that would influence generations of artists, animators, musicians, and fashion designers.” “As a cartoonist, I consider Betty Boop the eighth wonder of the world,” Frank Caruso, the vice-president of comics and cartoons syndicate King Features, said in February when asked about the surreal new animated short, Betty Goes A-Posen, a three-part collaboration with the fashion designer. She’s sexy, independent - and well aware of both, something that has made her iconic since her debut as a character 87 years ago. She rescues the designer Zac Posen - who is ensnared in monstrous vines - with nothing but a glare, and turns men arguing on the sidewalk into grinning fools with a wink and a smile. In her first cartoon in nearly three decades, which appeared online in February, Betty Boop steps out of a car into a windy street, her short black dress flaring. The space agency plans to build a deep space habitat for testing near the Moon, but that facility will certainly be much smaller than the space station. As it looks to expand human activity into deep space, NASA has indicated that it will end its participation in the space station program in 2024, or likely 2028 at the latest. NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) will host a Pre-Proposal Conference for the Neutral Buoyancy Lab Operations procurement on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Otherwise, it's not clear what will happen to the NBL in a decade or so. And so on.įor this massive pool, the time to find new users is now. Movies are now made at NASA's rocket factory in Michoud, Louisiana. Private companies like SpaceX have taken over launch pads at Kennedy Space Center. Johnson Space Center isn't alone in this, of course. Every commercial dollar allows the space agency to offset the multimillion-dollar annual expense of the NBL. But there remains considerably more capacity for private activity, and NASA has asked Raytheon to do additional marketing to bring in more customers. Some have tested robotic equipment for subsea activities with offshore rigs, while others have trained rig employees in safe egress from helicopters transporting them to and from offshore locations.Īt present, NASA uses the facility for about three dive runs a week, and the pool’s commercial end is used about three days. Raytheon began offering commercial access to the pool in 2010, and has since worked with a number of oil and gas companies. John Grunsfeld, who visited Hubble three times, once told me that his body ached for days after a run in the NBL. Like the real thing, too, it offers astronauts a grueling, six-hour workout. Although astronauts feel the weight of their suits in the water and the water acts as a drag on motion, neutral buoyancy offers the best available analog to working in space. NASA conducted the first training exercise for the NBL on Januas astronauts prepared for the second mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope. One question loomed foremost in our mind: Could the giant pool diversify enough to survive another 20 years? No weddings We came less than a month after the massive facility had celebrated its 20th anniversary. So even before the space shuttle's retirement in 2011, the space agency and the pool’s contractor, Raytheon, began experimenting with allowing private companies to use the pool.Īrs recently visited the pool in southeast Houston, not far from Johnson Space Center, to see how this particular public-private partnership was working out. NASA still needs the pool for these training runs, but it doesn’t need all of the massive pool, nor does it need it all of the time. Skybox-style control rooms overlook the pool to provide direct and indirect monitoring, communications, data connectivity, and control capabilities. Unfortunately, these positives are tempered by the disappointing interior materials." - Edmunds (2020) Add in the impressive performance and there's a lot to like about it. "In terms of style, the Chevy plays it pretty safe, and that's not a bad thing. Many other compact crossovers out-style the Equinox, but if basic is what you want, basic is what you’ll get here." - Autoblog (2022) There’s nothing here that is outwardly offensive, but it’s the embodiment of boring. "Where the interior starts to feel its age is when you look out over the boring center stack and sea of unexciting black plastic."The Equinox’s cabin is nicely styled and put together from durable materials." - Car and Driver.Aside from a capacious center-console storage bin, the Equinox's cabin storage is merely average. Some rivals offer more space behind the rear seats, but we still managed to fit eight of our carry-on suitcases back there. The cabin features plenty of cupholders, but most interior luxuries are offered as standard or optional equipment on higher trim levels the base Equinox L is a price leader with very few features. Both front- and rear-seat passengers should find themselves comfortable in the spacious interior, with enough luxuries to keep them content on longer trips. Made from durable materials and nicely styled, the Equinox's cabin should inspire broad appeal. For more information about the Equinox's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. We subjected the Equinox to our 75-mph real-world fuel-economy test route and with front-wheel drive, it returned 32 mpg on the highway we saw 28 mpg with all-wheel-drive version. Adding all-wheel drive reduces both ratings by 1 mpg. The EPA estimates that the front-wheel-drive Equinox will earn 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. GM Delays Updated Chevy, GMC, Cadillac Models.2022 Equinox Base Price Up, Other Trims Cheaper. The Chevy can also tow up to 3500 pounds, when properly equipped. The ride is a bit harsh, particularly with the optional 19-inch wheels (17s or 18s are standard), and rougher stretches of road transmit some unpleasantness into the cabin. Agreeable and easy to drive, the Equinox handles competently, and its steering is accurate and direct. The standard six-speed automatic shifts seamlessly, and in the interest of fuel economy, the gearbox is reluctant to downshift when extra power is needed. The turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder makes 170 horsepower, and when paired with the optional (and heavier) all-wheel-drive system (front-wheel drive is standard), it takes a heavy foot to hustle the Equinox up to highway speeds. Underpowered and frequently out of breath, the Equinox's turbo four-cylinder engine won't win any fans with its sluggish performance. We'd also opt for the Confidence and Convenience package, which includes blind-spot monitoring, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power liftgate, rear cross-traffic alert, and remote start. It comes standard with chrome exterior trim, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, SiriusXM satellite radio, and more. Pricing and Which One to BuyĪlthough the Equinox lineup adds the stylized RS near the top of the pecking order, we'd still recommend the mid-level LT. This update to Chevy's compact SUV was originally intended for the 2021 model year, but has been delayed to 2022 because of the global Coronavirus pandemic. The more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is no longer offered, leaving the turbo 1.5-liter engine as the sole offering. The top-tier Premier also has spiffier cabin details, such as French stitching and gloss-black trim on the console. Its interior boasts a unique shift knob, red stitching, and black upholstery. Chevy also adds an RS model, which includes sporty styling cues such as dark 19-inch wheels and blacked-out exterior trim. The makeover brings more distinctive headlights, a new grille design, and updated front and rear bumpers. What's New for 2022?Ī refreshed front end highlights the changes to the 2022 Equinox. The spendier trim levels push prices into expensive territory but people who are committed to the bow-tie brand and unfazed by mediocrity will appreciate the 2022 Equinox. While all-wheel drive is optional, all Equinox models are powered by the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, it falls short in terms of interior quality and storage space compared with its competitors. Sure, the Chevy has plentiful passenger room, a feature-laden infotainment system, and athletic handling. The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is among the most popular compact crossovers, but mass consumption doesn't mean it's truly compelling. |
